Rhodochrosite - Fluorite association

Is there a cogent reason for fluorite to be so often associated with rhodochrosite specimens? This is not just Colorado but also Peruvian sites and the Chinese specimens (though not the African ones). Is there a geologic relationship between the two species that accounts for this?

Thanks for some help for this non-geologist.

There is no link between Fluorite and Rhodochrosite. There is lots of fluorite with no rhodochrosite and lots of rhodochrosite with no fluorite.
