Titanium: can trace amounts be included in apatite?
November 16, 2011 01:35AM
Hello, mindat community!

Out of curiosity, I was wondering if anybody knew whether or not trace amounts of titanium could possibly be incorporated into the structure of Apatite. If yes, which structural site would it be incorporated into?
(If you have a source/reference that answers my question, I would appreciate that, but it's not necessary. :D )
I already tried looking around on various scholarly databases to find what influences apatite's color and what sorts of substitutions can be made in its structure, but I had no luck finding such information.

Thank you very much! :)
