Hi Everyone,

I've created a small Show Report detailing my Denver adventure this year and would like to invite all of you to come along and share in the fun. Thanks for letting me share Jolyon. All the very best,

John

John...

All I can say is "wow"!

I think it's great that you take the time to document these events and give those of us who missed it the chance to partake.

Excellent! Those are some great pictures! Thank you very much for sharing!

With the risk of sounding stupid, what's up with that Calcite after Bird's Nest? Is that for real? Is it one piece found like that, or is it comprised of multiple pieces? And is it really a replacement of a bird's nest? I would have never thought such a thing was possible! But before I got into collecting minerals I never would have believed half of the stuff that's out there. In fact, many such unbelievable specimens are shown in your photographs! Seriously, nice job, and like Greg says, it's really wonderful for us who didn't get to go there to see some of the highlights.

Thank you John for sharing that with us!

Hi Ben and Greg,

Thanks so much for writing guys, I really appreciate it! While my prespectives from the show are rather limited, I do very much enjoy sharing the fun as I can!

Regarding your question Ben, and this is my opinion only, this seems to be one of those scenarios which is just too good to be true. My understanding is that it is indeed a nest with eggs, but it is soooo perfect a nest, and regarding the active depositional environment where it was "found", I sure wonder too... It sure seems like a neat thing to have been staged for a later recovery, kind of like the tennis shoe covered by gypsum, or the ram skulls covered by halite. Someone knows, I'm not sure their telling though....

Any way, it is a neat thing!

Thanks again and all the very best,

John
