Are you coming to the Tucson show next year?

Just wanted to start this one now, to see who of the mindat family is coming to Tucson.

The focus is on Arizona minerals...and I for one am excited to see what shows up in the displays...as this is one very interesting state , mineralogically speaking,
I mean, for instance, within the outer limits of the city of Tucson...there is a gulch where one can occasionally still find
gold nuggets after the monsoons have washed new materials down. [clue: it has the word Oro in it's name]..
How many cities can boast of that in the U.S.?

Kristin and I will be in Tucson for a couple days. Any chance of a party? I know it turned into way more work than you signed up for last year, but I heard several people say it was the best one in town!

I'm not sure if Ray will be organizing a mindat party next year, but there will be a special mindat evening event on Tuesday 7th February at the Pueblo Gem and Mineral Show - more details soon!

But an actual party at Ray's place sounds like a great idea too! Ray hires the most ideal location for visiting Tucson if you don't already know - walking distance between Inn Suites and the Convention Centre. If you need somewhere to stay then contact him!

Yeah, great party at Ray's! Though for a while, I thought I had been teleported to OZ. We'll be there 8th to12th.

Great responses so far...thanks Jolyon for the comment! It is much appreciated, since you have been a denizen at the place for at least 2 of the years I have had it up and running, and definitely can speak from personal experience.
So if anyone wishes to inquire, I still have a space for either a couple or two separate people in one very large master bedroom.. and I can fill in any interested party on issues of location, rent and what comes with the package.

In response to the party question, John...the place we rent in central Tucson, is a modernized 120 year old private home , so if there is a party, it will be by invitation only, to respect the owners....and to protect the property.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend. However there is a possibility I might be able to attend the 2013 show.

Thanks for the kind offer, Linda. As Jolyon says, it won't be an official Mindat party, but it should be a party ...and I hope that you are mending well as you make this kind offer of assistance!
I am sad to hear that Jenna won't make 2012, and of course I already know that you will be coming Everett, as you are already a paid up member of the 2012 mineral maniacs at the mansion in Tucson.

I am a bit concerned, there do not seem to be a lot of people saying that they are coming, so far...come on everyone , let us know if you are going to join us at Tucson.. and if you are, contact me if you do not have a room yet, as I still have one available at the Mineral Maniacs Mansion...which is right within walking distance of everything.

Ray- I'll be there for only a few days. Work/family won't permit me to be gone much longer. I've got my lodging taken care of.

I've never been out there, what would anyone recommend being the best time to go to catch part of the Quartzite show and part of the Tuscan show if thats possible? Also, is there any chance of getting a booth space anywhere in either locations on the spot or is everything basically pre-registered out there. Been wanting to go for years now and might just make the trip finally! :)

Will be there, Ray, but we stay at a B&B in the hills. Will be running around peddling Spruce specimens as usual. Love the parking lot photo!
