I know it is late in the game but I would like to announce the 20th Annual Minerals of Arizona Symposium to be
held in Phoenix on April 13-15. See the following link for registration, etc.
To commemorate the anniversary, we are going to hold our first ever hotel tailgating show at the Clarion Hotel in Phoenix, just off US 10. We have over 20 dealers signed up thus far and the courtyard-around-the-pool show will be on the evenings of April 13 and 14. It is FREE to the public and one doesn't have to register for the Symposium to enjoy the mini Tucson-style show. The Flagg Mineral Foundation, sponsor of the Symposium, will have a room open for sales as well. The Symposium is always a great event and this year the Symposium has an excellent slate of speakers, a Saturday evening Mexican buffet and auction to benefit a future Earth Science Museum and a field trip planned for Sunday to the Reymert mine near Superior. The Clarion is offering very affordable room rates for this weekend event. Please check the link. Don't miss it!
Many thanks,
Dana

I should have also pointed out that our keynote speaker this year will be Bob Jones (bobjonesite)---the very respected author, editor and lecturer and he will present a program on the "Formation of Mexico's Giant Selenites" and Bob has very graciously donated a large gypsum (v. selenite) crystal (to be auctioned!) that he removed from one of the mines along with a photo of Bob removing said crystal! It is going to be great fun! Contact me at dsminerals@aol.com if you have additional questions.
