The March show is the first big UK mineral and fossil show in 2014.

The Oxford Mineral Fossil Shows (since 1993) take place five times each year and enable collectors to purchase top quality mineral and fossil specimens to add to their collections. The shows are organised by Lowestone.com and they provide an opportunity for collectors to meet and catch up with friends and their news. Books, maps, collecting equipment, mining lamps, microscopes are also offered by the specialist dealers who exhibit at the Shows.

The Shows are free to visitors after 10.30am (a charge of £2 is made for an earlier preview). Being free admission shows, family, friends and children are very welcome.

Is there any mineral show elsewhere in UK? I live North East.

Hi Nolan,

There are 2 NE England shows remaining this year - Newcastle Racecourse (July 5-6) and Harrogate Pavilions (August 16-17). Jolyon (on the other thread) is right, in that they are small shows and have some non-mineral things (beads, new-age stuff, etc.) included...but we are also in the northeast, and they are better than nothing! We always manage to find some interesting things, and there are a few good mineral dealers. The Harrogate show is the better of the two, with a few dealers coming up from the south.

If you can manage it, do try to get to Bakewell in October or Sussex in November - they are the best! By the way, there is a Northern Branch of the Russell Society that sponsors field trips during the warmer months - check out their website! (Members can go on field trips from other branches, too.)
