Improving Mindat.orgDuplicate pics

Some of the following have more/less locality info than its duplicate.

37441 = 39969, 34752 = 38097, 37728 = 40094, 37488 = 40087,

37727 = 39975, 37468 = 39937, 20367 = 27313, 37476 = 39944,

37446 = 39971, 31250 = 32106, 22003 = 27306, 31154 = 32103,

37490 = 40091, 34652 = 38262, 34737 = 38100, 31265 = 32110.

31265 has a different locality attributed to it than that for 32110

26351 is almost identical to 26352, as are 25095 and 25096.

16721 is basically 16722 rotated 90 degrees.

Bill,

The photos 31265 and 32110 are completely different - different minerals, localities and, of course, photos.

In respect of the other photos, I did send a lot of e-mails. I'm going to wait for about one week. If nothing happens, I will make the necessary selections myself.

Hi Peter,

That should have read 31256 = 32110 these were identical pics of quartz with some other mineral on 1 of the termination faces. 31265 and 32110 are now identical pics of tourmaline group minerals.

I noticed that nearly all of the dupes you found were uploaded by Rob Lavinsky. A reason could be that in (nearly?) all cases the respective dupes were both in the category "Photos only shown in user's gallery" (instead of "Photo shown throughout site"). I changed this for the photos of your two last posts.
