Improving Mindat.orgwrong locality

24th Oct 2011 13:08 UTCMartin Stevko Expert

Hello,

This locality: http://www.mindat.org/loc-158038.html is wrong placed to the territory of Romania. Also-Sajó is

old hungarian name for this locality: http://www.mindat.org/loc-12669.html. References used in this wrong

locality refers to Nižná Slaná which is well know locality of evansite, mercury and cinnabar in Slovakia.

I think that this Romanian locality should be deleted.

Best wishes

Martin

Fixed.

Hi all,

Pic 430292 - 293 and 295 is not rutile from Kipushi.

The mineral was mislabeled since found.

There is no rutile in Kipushi.

The specimens are probably from the Kinyanfumbe deposit.

I hope this helps.

Take care and best regards.

Paul,

Have you been to the Kinyanfumbe deposit? Is it the name of a mine? Do you know where it is, e.g. the nearest town?

I can find no record of the place and all attributions to this deposit seem to stem from your post this March.

Grateful to learn more.

Thanks.
