I was surprised when I read your opinion on this specimen.
You mention "the typical hydroxylapatite crystal groups that I have from the Champion Mine".
Could you please post a picture (or pictures) of these, so we can see what you are referring to?

Paul Mestrom has conducted a few tests on the specimen in question. The following is a translation of the e-mail I received from him:
- The orange-brown crystals in question dissolve somewhat in HCL
- the PHOSPHATE TEST was NEGATIVE for this piece (The same test was repeated with a previously positively identified Apatite. This 2nd test was positive)
- One of the positive ions (Sr or Al) could cause this negative result, but it is odd to say the least
- The SULPHATE TEST also proved NEGATIVE
- The Sr could cause this negative result
Therefore, the correct ID for this specimen is still to be determined.
