I can see them. You have to go a level higher (Kakamas) to see the map.

Not sure those co-ordinates are correct John, there placed west of Riemvasmaak, the fluorite occurrence is known to be 3km north of the village. The locality should be Riemvasmaak fluorite occurrence, Riemvasmaak, Kakamas, ZF Mgcawu District (Siyanda District), Northern Cape.

Thanks David--I hadn't noticed that.

Debbie,

I'm not sure what to do in this case--I cited the Minrec map as the source for the approximation. So, how are these kinds of uncertainties handled?

I've added new locality Riemvasmaak (village) and made the fluorite occurrence a sub-locality of that, I added the exact co-ordinates for the village. The minrec map only points to the village not the fluorite occurrence 3 km north, as far as I can tell. It's my opinion that the co-ordinates added to the fluorite occurrence are incorrect and should be removed until we can get a precise location, I'd hoped you would be in agreement with me John and edit your entry :-)

I think what you've done makes sense Debbie. I've taken the liberty of editing your text authoritatively giving the locations 3km N of the village though based on the MinRec map. I hope you agree with the edit, but I'll concede to you if you feel really strongly that your location info is solid.

Well I'm glad my credentials stack up for you John! The info I added to the locality page all came from the minrec article by Bruce Cairncross (2009), page 310.

I do not agree with your latest edit, perhaps we need a referee ;-)

Debbie, after checking your reference, I don't agree with my latest edit either. Back it goes like you had it. I sure hope this was an outlier in the efficacy with which information is amassed on this site ;)
