Improving Mindat.orgWood Creek

3rd Jun 2016 14:24 UTCBruce Osborne

The localites Wood Creek (244657) and Woods Creek Sapphire Mine (147216) in Haywood county in North Carolina are the same. This needs to be corrected.

Now merged. Thanks, Bruce.

But there seems to be another problem with a sapphire mine in that area (same mine?) - http://www.mindat.org/loc-5495.html - Heirarchy puts it in Canton, but the coordinates put it in Maiden, many miles east of Ashville.

Alfredo, remove coordinates from the Presley Mine, they were wrong. Will get correct coordinates. The Woods Creek placer or mine is a few hundred feet from the Presley Mine in the creek. It was finally closed off from digging and washing in the creek, their was a lack of water. I have been their myself on both sites. Wayne
