Improving Mindat.orgGypsum, var. selenite, Pisco,Peru

2nd Jul 2016 14:44 UTCAlfred L. Ostrander

There are two locations listed for yellow duckbill twin selenites fro Pisco, Peru

Las Salinas, Otume Village, Pisco, Pisco Province, Ica Department, Peru

www.mindat.org/loc-65057.html

Salinas de Otuma, Paracas, Pisco, Pisco Province, Ica Department, Peru

www.mindat.org/loc-53331.html

I believe these are the same localities. The village name most likely shoud be spelled Otuma.

A web search for Las Salinas de Paracas might prove insightful.

I just got a specimen from this locality and was double checking the locality information and discovered this double listing.

Best Regards,

Al O
