Can you help make this a better article? What good localities have we missed? Can you supply pictures of better specimens than those we show here? Can you give us more and better information about the specimens from these localities? Can you supply better geological or historical information on these localities?
Baryte, Bulgaria
BaSO4 Orthorhombic
Here will go a good picture of a Baryte from Bulgaria and general remarks about the Baryte from this country. Here are some url's to some of the better Bulgarian Baryte specimens here on Mindat that can be considered for inclusion in the article. These, in most cases are just for temporary use until we can get images of the much better specimens that are almost certainly out there. We should also consider that there are probably localities out there with fine specimens that are not even mentioned on Mindat. Also in some instances there are sometimes pictures on Mindat, of specimens from a locality, but they were so ratty that I did not include them here, but there may also be really good specimens from there that we should talk about in this article.

Here are some notes about Bulgarian Baryte that someone may find useful when writing this article.
Bulgaria
Madan Orefield. “Barite, the principal sulfate minerals in the veins is of limited distribution. The milky, grayish white to yellow-brown crystals are semi-opaque, and occur zonally associated with fine-grained quartz, pyrite, galena, calcite, kaolinite and other minerals.”1 The Madan Orefield is better known for its galena, sphalerite and other minerals. The mines in this district have been worked for base metals since the fifth or sixth centuries BC. See the interesting article sited below.

Hi Rock,
The best barite samples from Bulgaria come from the deposit Spoluka, Spoluka mine. This deposit is situated just under the Madan downtown and is out of operation approximately 30 years, so these barite samples could be seen in the National museum "Earth and the man" in Sofia only.

Hi Tomasz,
Concerning to your post “Zlotograd, Erma Reka, Androu mine”, would like to refine the locality: instead your, I thing that correctly would be following: Madan ore field, Androy-Shumachevski dol deposit, Androu mine. (conserning to “Zlotograd” – the correct writing of the name of this town is Zlatograd).
Regards
Anton
