One evening I went outside, probably for a puff. I heard a whistling sound over my head, I then looked up to see a meteor coming in. It's the only time I've heard one.

When I lived in Washington State, I saw a meteorite hit.
Unfortunatly, it was about five miles as a crow flies, through old growth forest,
across a river, in about five feet of snow. It was also dark out.

Over a dozen pieces recovered from this fall so far. UWO search teams headed by Phil McCausland have spent weeks in the field. Pieces are all small, 3-60 grams. There should be some larger, at the far end of the strewn field, but none found so far as the escarpment is rough country, and well treed. Hopefully more will turn up over time.
