Dual Garnet

Acquired from The Bristol Gem and Mineral show 19 Oct 2013. The vender stated it came from Nevada, locality unknown. Two vugs show a Garnet crystal in each along with drusy quartz crystals. Measures approx. 2 1/2" L x 1 1/2"W x 2" H.

5"L x 1 1/2"H, This specimen has a dual crystal backed by a dual crystal in a vug. The pair behind the first pair shows an orange color (iron). I liked how the color in the rear pair shows a contrast. I washed it with organic soap and a toothbrush. This specimen came from Middleville, NY - Ace of Diamonds, Oct 2013.

Corncob Quartz Close up

Same corncob quartz specimen acquired from West Stafford, CT (July 2013) 9"L x 4"H, this close up picture shows the crystals in a tight pattern that simulates a corn cob. This specimen had a thick brown (iron) coating until it was soaked in super iron out for three days.

Corncob Quartz

This specimen was found in West Stafford, CT. (July 2013) The location appears to have been a mining site for this type of quartz at one time. This specimen measures 9"L x 4"H.

Runyon quartz location, Magnet Cove, Hot Spring County, Arkansas, USA

This piece of Quartz was found in North Little Rock, AR on March 12, 2013. Dimensions are approx. 2" L x 1" W x 3/4' H. The picture was taken with my iPhone and zoomed in to show detail.
