Apatite-(CaF) : Ca5[F|(PO4)3]

This deep blue apatite is a very nice sample from the classic brazilian locality. Its best quality is the perfect crystalization,added to its gemmy transparence: most of these crystals are badly shaped and with few transparent spots. The size is cm 3,5 x 1,8 x 1,5. Apatite-(CaF) : Ca5[F|(PO4)3], Magnetite : Fe2+Fe3+2O4

Durango, Mexico

This specimen is cm 8,5 x 7 x 4,5. The surface is filled with magnetite crystals and gemmy yellow-green fluorapatites partly covered by an iron coating. The main crystal is total gem and it's cm 2,2 x 0,7. Sarah Sudcowsky collection.

A lovely specimen with gemmy barite crystals up to cm 0,8. Althought the whole specimen (with size of cm 6 x 3 x 4,5) is very beautiful, my eyes are most catched by the real "star"of the plate: this small, perfect gem of cm 0,25, which Mother Nature has decided to put in the middle of a "glade", with all of those "honey mountains" around.. ...

This beautiful miniature is an old find from the popular italian mine of Niccioleta. The size is cm 4 x 2,5 x 2,5, and the barite crystals are up to cm 0,4.
