Monazite, Anatase : TiO2

Poudrette quarry (Demix quarry; Uni-Mix quarry; Desourdy quarry), Mont Saint-Hilaire, Rouville RCM, Montérégie, Québec, Canada

Monazite, associated with anatase. The specimen was purchased at the Rochester Symposium in April 2005. The label says "monazite" and not "monazite-(Ce). It also indicates the second mineral to be anatase. Photo is 2.5 mm in length, and was taken by Steve Stuart. The specimen is in his collection.
