Hexagonal dipyramidal quartz crystal from an unusual locality, more famous for its amber deposits. I purchased this specimen from IC Minerals (Isaiah Casanova) at the Main Show in Tucson, 2009. Indeed, a mineral oddity!

The crystal is about 12 mm in width. Photo and specimen: Steve Stuart
