Fluorite : CaF2, Quartz : SiO2, Pyrite : FeS2

Burlington Mine, Jamestown District, Boulder Co., Colorado, USA

Typical Burlington mine ore, lower grade than some of the material seen. This sample is 50-60% fluorite. The main contaminant is altered, country rock ranging in size from one inch angular fragments to rock flour. This gives the ore a brownish color. The ore is weakly pyritized. Multiple generations of brecciation are apparent.
