A fine crystallized cabinet example for this species from Colorado! A 10 x 9.6 x 5 cm matrix is hosting numerous bronze colored prismatic crystals of astrophyllite, these frozen throughout. Ex Don Belsher collection; his data card comes with this one dating the piece to 1946.

2.5 x 0.7 x 0.2 cm. A lustrous, metallic foil-like, golden-bronze astrophyllite blade from a famous Colorado locality - St. Peters Dome. Astrophyllite is a RARE titanium silicate and this is an LARGE, outstanding, free-standing crystal of the species and locality. Ex. Dick Jones Collection and certainly an older specimen.

Large agregate of sub-metallic bronze Astrophyllite crystals in pegmatite of alkaline granites. Associating minerals are dark-brown Cyrtolite xls (red arrowed on the one of daughter photos), K-feldspars, Aegirine and Quartz. Specimen size is 7.5x5x3 cm. Specimen size is 15x6x3 cm. A fibrous mass of astrophyllite needles forms a 1 cm thick layer on feldspar. A few scattered orange spots of ferrithorite can also be seen. Collected June 2009 by Dean Allum.
