This is a rich plate of the micro-crystalline, carbonate-rich apatite variety known as francolite, first identified in England and represented in an English specimen here, from Cornwall. Through a loupe, you will recognize the familiar apatite form in the crystals. Very hard to obtain! |

Making up approximately half the display surface is a mass of brightly shiny to slightly tarnished bismuthinite.
