Actinolite : ☐Ca2(Mg,Fe2+)5(Si8O22)(OH)2

Otjiwarongo District, Otjozondjupa Region, Namibia

Here was another surprise, GOOD actinolite crystals! You almost never see this specimens in specimen-worthy crystals for the collector of good crystals, and here we even have them on matrix! Charlie valued these highly, because of their notability for the species and also for Namibia. The most aesthetic of the three... 6.4 x 4.0 x 1.9 cm

7.7 x 2.5 x 2.4 cm. Here is a superb actinolite crystal. You almost never see this amphibole group mineral in good crystals for the collector, and here we even have a doubly terminated crystal aesthetically encrusted with sharp, off-white, dolomite rhombs on both sides. This is a nearly pristine, highly lustrous, deep-green, beautifully-striated ...

Fluorite : CaF2

Okorusu Mine (Okarusu Mine), Otjiwarongo District, Otjozondjupa Region, Namibia

The pics say it all! The crystal atop is almost 3 inches and complete save for a contact in the back. Pristine on the front and sides. This is quite simply the BEST Okarusu I have ever seen...now in the Jeff Starr collection, I will happily say (Jeff is a good friend here in Dallas who took pics and helped me out over the summer). 7.9 x 5.9 x ...

4.1 x .3.5 x 2.6 cm. Another specimen from the new find at the Okarusu. This specimen amply demonstrates the unusual variety of colors from this new find - this, the most rare of them, a golden yellow (with hints of purple).

Fluorite : CaF2

Okorusu Mine (Okarusu Mine), Otjiwarongo District, Otjozondjupa Region, Namibia

A spectacular large specimen, with HUGE and deeply colored, multiply-phantomed crystals to a whopping 5 cm (2 inches!). MUCH BETTER IN PERSON...when backlit, this piece GLOWS with colors subtly changing from green to blue throughout. It is one of the best from here that I have seen for sale and is representative of older material, as opposed to ...
