Adularia : KAlSi3O8

Alchuri (Alchori; Aschudi), Shigar Valley, Skardu District, Baltistan, Northern Areas, Pakistan

Unusually gemmy, sharp, TEXTBOOK crystals of adularia with just a bit of matrix for accent. Lustrous, striated terminations and overall just a great piece. 4.8 x 3.6 x 3.5 cm

Adularia : KAlSi3O8

Alchuri (Alchori; Aschudi), Shigar Valley, Skardu District, Baltistan, Northern Areas, Pakistan

This very strange crystal has a faden line running down the middle, something I thought only happened with quartz!? It is a complete, very gemmy crystal and has a lot of appeal for the sharp crystal habit, even aside from the internal faden line. Better in person! 3.5 x 1.9 x 0.8 cm

Alchuri (Alchori; Aschudi), Shigar Valley, Skardu District, Baltistan, Northern Areas, Pakistan

An aesthesic specimen that displays well featuring a cluster of clear well formed intergrown Adularia crystals, perched on a greenish metamorphosed matrix with smaller sparkling Adularia crystals, and green hair-like fibrous crystals of Byssolite. The Adularia are intergrown in a radial rosette-like form.
