The barite is pearlescent translucent to clear with beautiful terminations. This an old specimen from the working mine and is a contrast to the golden yellow fluorite specimens found at the locality. |

The large outstanding crystal in the centre is 12mm wide and the largest dimension of the specimen is 80mm. The specimen came from what I believe to be the Dowscar Vein where it outcrops outside the blocked portal of Dowscar High Level. |
