Nyerereite as rounded, pseudohexagonal phenocrystals in lava from the type locality the Oldoinyo Lengai vulcano, Arusha, Tanzania. The crystal form is visible behind the protective layer of vulcanic "glass". Specimen and photo: Knut Eldjarn.
