Albite : Na[AlSi3O8], Quartz : SiO2

East Highgate, Franklin Co., Vermont, USA

Sandstone matrix covered with translucent, platy albite crystals and minor quartz. Good, old-time specimen giver to Zodac in 1947 by Fred Tupper, a local Vermont resident. Ex. Peter Zodac collection (founder of Rocks and Minerals magazine in 1926). Overall size of mineral specimen: 4x4x3.5 cm. Size of individual crystals: 4-20 mm.
