Almandine : Fe2+3Al2[SiO4]3, Graphite : C

Erving, Franklin Co., Massachusetts, USA

Single almandine garnet in silvery graphite matrix. The almandine garnet is exposed front and back allowing light to pass through the crystal showing it is quite translucent. One of the best I obtained from a new find. Overall size of mineral specimen: 5x3x1 cm. Size of individual crystals: 10 mm.
