Almond Formation Locality, Rock Springs, Sweetwater Co., Wyoming, USA

Extraordinary primary single crystals of kaolinite in under-coal matrix. These are not pseudomorphs. FOV = 0.9 cm. Despite the curved habit of the crystals, a first level, filtered Buerger Precession photograph made by me from this specimen showed an only slightly streaked pattern.
