Exceptionally bright casiterite crystals to 5mm, on a bed of small quartz crystals. Ian Jones collection. Collected in 1990 fron the back of a lode on the Poldory section of the mine, when the ground was being cleared for a landfill site.

A fine old-timer consisting of a 8.3 x 5.4 x 3.3 cm matrix, the top liberally sprinkled with mirror-bright lustrous sharply formed black to brownish black crystals of cassiterite. The largest cassiterite crystals measure to 1.3 cm in size. Overall, with only slight contacting, this is in great condition damage-wise. Ref: Embrey and Symes, Minerals ...

5.5 x 4.7 x 3.2 cm. A classic, old-time combination specimen of lustrous, wine-red cuprite microcrystals richly covering a solid box-work matrix of elongated, spinel-twinned copper crystals to massive copper from the historic Gwennap-St. Day area of Cornwall. Both species are rare from this locale. Ex. Durkos Collection.
