Superb red slightly translucent undamaged twinned crystals of cinnabar to 0.5 cm in size are scattered nicely over a 3.5 x 2.6 x 1.3 cm crystallized quartz matrix. Very nice for the species at this Nevada locality! Ex Anna Mae Anderson collection. Ref: Canadian Mineralogist; 20:97.

Red Bird Mine, Antelope Springs District, Pershing Co., Nevada, USA

7.9 x 6.0 x 3.7 cm. Amazingly gemmy and lustrous, intense cherry-red cinnabar crystals to about 1.0 cm are beautifully scattered in a very sculptural vug in quartz-rich matrix on this striking specimen from a very uncommon old locale in Nevada - the Red Bird Mine in Pershing County.
