Extraordinary cluster of Beryl var. Emerald crystals with Rutile!
Rarely does one fine such a large, aesthetic specimen of Emerald from North Carolina!
I've seen better specimens from the Rist Mine but they are all in museums or carry a
huge price tag. I was VERY fortunate to come across this specimen while in Tucson.

4.6 x 2.8 x 2.1 cm. Superb, textbook biotite crystals mark this classic from an old find (1960s if I recall correctly, or maybe the 50s), at the site of the famous hiddenite mines. This crystal is superbly displayed on matrix, a small miniature overall.
