Lustrous, translucent, orange-brown butlerite and parabutlerite prisms to 2 mm richly cover matrix on this fine example of these rare species. Cerussite : PbCO3

Taj Kuh Mine, Bafq, Yazd Province, Iran

Cerussite twin. Rock Currier collection #3514 (1978). Bought this specimen at the mine from a bag of crystal fragments. I was told that someone in Terran had a specimen that weighed more than 5kg. Over the years this mine must have produced many fine specimens, but almost all of them went to the crusher.
