Azurite : Cu3[OH|CO3]2, Malachite : Cu2[(OH)2|CO3]

Kabwe Mine (Broken Hill Mine), Kabwe (Broken Hill), Central Province, Zambia

8.9 x 5.9 x 3.3 cm. You read that right - a rare specimen of azurite not from Broken Hill in Australia but from the same-named locality in ZAMBIA! This is basically a series of small pockets with little sparkly crystals in them - with accenting light green malachite here and there. Probably from the 1950s-1960s.

No, not THAT Broken Hill - this is something even more uncommon, azurite from a Broken Hill, ZAMBIA - and while certainly not world-class azurites, they are well worth collecting as locality specimens. You can see the green malachite association.

Kabwe Mine (Broken Hill Mine), Kabwe (Broken Hill), Central Province, Zambia

21.5 x 12.8 x 11.4 cm. A monster specimen mined in the 1960s from a little-known copper-mining locality in Zambia (not to be confused with the famous Broken Hill locality in Australia). This whopper is ALL azurite and malachite - the azurite as small, sparkly blue crystals, and the malachite in massive form. Extra shipping due to size and weight. ...

Kabwe Mine (Broken Hill Mine), Kabwe (Broken Hill), Central Province, Zambia

18.4 x 12.9 x 9.9 cm. A very large specimen of SOLID azurite and malachite, no matrix or "rock" at all. There are crystals all over this specimen, including unexposed ones in the center of the specimen, in a seam that is lined with crystals. It is basically a whopper chunk completely composed of azurite crystals and massive malachite - very ...

17.9 x 12.9 x 9.4 cm. A large specimen of solid azurite and malachite from a VERY OLD find in ZAMBIA from the 1960s! This is a vuggy specimen, rounded in back with more malachite there, and roughly crystallized within the vuggy areas.

Kabwe Mine (Broken Hill Mine), Kabwe (Broken Hill), Central Province, Zambia

6.5 x 5.6 x 4.4 cm. A fine specimen of this material from an old 1960s-era find at this locality in Zambia. Many of these specimens are mostly massive azurite and malachite, but you can see some clearly eye-visible, chunky crystals on this specimen. This is a rich specimen, consisting entirely of azurite and malachite (virtually no matrix).
