Herja Mine (Kisbánya), Baia Mare (Nagybánya), Maramures Co., Romania

From the noted collection of Dr. Jan Buma , a connossieur of Eastern European minerals, a remarkable barite-in-jamesonite from Maramures. Baryte : BaSO4, Jamesonite : Pb4FeSb6S14

Herja Mine (Kisbánya), Baia Mare (Nagybánya), Maramures Co., Romania

The cluster is complete all around, with just a bit of contact on the bottom and only very trivial damage elsewhere for such a delicate cluster. It is from the Jan Buma collection, noted for such pieces from this ...
