|
Parys Mountain Mines (Paris Mine; Parys Mine; Mona Mine; Morfa Du Mine), Amlwch, Isle of Anglesey (Gwynedd; Anglesey), Wales, UK This is described as Pisanite (following advice given by the mindat forum) though my feeling is melanterite rather than chalcanthite as there is a high iron content but next to no copper. The matrix is a soft gray rock with abundant pyrite. Width of field 20mm Chris Popham specimen & photo, 2007 |

Parys Mountain Mines (Paris Mine; Parys Mine; Mona Mine; Morfa Du Mine), Amlwch, Isle of Anglesey (Gwynedd; Anglesey), Wales, UK Again this is listed as Pisanite though I tend towards melanterite due to the high iron content. The field of view is 28mm. Chris Popham specimen & photo, 2007 |
