Hoelite : C14H8O2, Salammoniac : NH4Cl

Mt. Pyramide, Spitsbergen, Svalbard, Norway

Yellow, acicular hoelite crystals to about 0,5 mm on matrix. This specimen, from the collection of the Mineralogical Museum in Oslo, might be the only Norwegian hoelite-specimen in existence. It is about 2,5 cm long and consists of hoelite crystals on Sal Ammoniac. The hoelite was formed during a mine fire in a coal mine.
