Chalcopyrite : CuFeS2, Sphalerite : (Zn,Fe2+)S

Massive sulfide ore collected from a large mine dump near open pit. The golden colored mineral is chalcopyrite and the brown mineral is sphalerite.

This deposit is considered a Kuroko style volcanogenic massive sulfide deposit.

Pyrite cubes on what appears to be a product of the submarine volcanic activity which created this VMS (volcanogenic massive sulfide) deposit.

Specimen is ~6cm wide.
