Azurite : Cu3[OH|CO3]2, Malachite : Cu2[(OH)2|CO3]

Blueball Mine, Globe, Globe Hills, Globe Hills District, Globe-Miami District, Gila Co., Arizona, USA

Well, all jokes aside, you can certainly see why they called this the Blue Ball Mine. This is an adorable geode of solid azurite, with tiny sparkling crystals in the middle, accented with pretty green malachite. These are VERY hard to get now This one came from Arizona collector/dealer Evan Jones. 2.7 x 2.4 x 1.1cm, 2.7 x 2.3 x 1.4cm

Blueball Mine, Globe, Globe Hills, Globe Hills District, Globe-Miami District, Gila Co., Arizona, USA

Well, all jokes aside, I think from this specimen you can see why this mine was named the Blue Ball Mine. This is a wonderful azurite GEODE (yes, an azurite geode!) that came uniquely from this mine. The crystals grew radially towards the middle, where you can actually see terminations around the hollow at the very center. These are quite unique ...

Castle Dome Mine (Castle Dome deposit; Pinto Valley deposit), Castle Dome area (Castle Dome Mine area; Pinto Valley Mine area), Inspiration, Miami-Inspiration District, Globe-Miami District, Gila Co., Arizona, USA

This piece is SO incredibly good, it defies any and all expectations for a cerussite from this part of the country. It is a historic piece with exact data on from whom and when it came out that will go to the owner. It was mined in the 1950s and came into the noted southwest collection of Frank Valenzuela, and from him went to dealer Cal Graeber ...

Inspiration Mine, Miami-Inspiration deposit, Inspiration, Miami-Inspiration District, Globe-Miami District, Gila Co., Arizona, USA

This crystal of azurite is doubly terminated, midnight blue, with rich blue highlights. It also has superb luster. This mine was not noted for having produced fine mineral specimens and this is of Tsumeb quality, from a US locality! IT I SMUCH BETTER IN PERSON!. 2.6 x 1.7 x 0.8 cm
