Tanakamiyama (Tanokamiyama), Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture, Kinki Region, Honshu Island, Japan 3.2 x 2.6 x 2.5 cm. This is a very rare Japanese specimen. Pretty much anything from Japan is now very hard to obtain, even the more common Japanese "classics" such as rhodochrosite or stibnite. Here is a very rare amazonite, the blue variety of microcline. The crystals are wonderfully sharp, and the overall form is pretty too. |
