BERYL var. Morganite with Lepidolite, Naipa Mine, Alto Lighona, Mozambique. A tabular, hexagonal, somewhat corrodded peach-pink beryl crystal, 7 cm across the pinicoid face. Imbedded in one pinicoid and one prism face are several well formed books of pale lavander lepidolite and a minor amount of green tourmaline.

This is a brilliant loose gemmy bluish-green transparent sceptered terminated elbaite crystal measuring 3.3 x 1.7 x 0.8 cm in size overall. A truly superb "toe-nail" specimen, especially nice for this locality! The Naipa Mine is thought to be working an extension of the famous Muiâne pegmatites. Matrixless cluster of two flattened octahedral crystals of emerald-green microlite with some specks of white albite. Some damage as can be seen in the photos but still a good representative of this unusual mineral.
