Molybdenite : MoS2, Beryl : Be3Al2Si6O18

California Mine, Upper Browns Creek area, Nathrop, Chaffee Co., Colorado, USA

A flat plate-like matrix measuring 9.3 x 6.5 x 1.3 cm in size, this mostly coated on both sides by bright flaky metallic silver crystallized molybdenite. Minor beryl in association makes for an interesting example for the species. Ex Don Belsher collection. Ref: Rocks & Minerals:59:15 & 64:7.

A 11.3 x 7.4 x 6.9 cm quartz/beryl matrix, one side almost completely covered by shiny metallic silver crystalline molybdenite. Nice cabinet sized locality piece for the species/locality. Ex Don Belsher collection.
