Kali Kafi Mine (Kale Kafi Mine), Anarak District, Esfahan Province (Isfahan Province; Aspadana Province), Iran

A neat locality and association specimen consisting of a 8.3 x 6.9 x 4.8 cm matrix, this vuggy throughout and with colorless tabular barite crystals to 1.6 cm in size. There is yellowish crystallized mimetite present as well, along with minor hemimorphite and calcite. Ex Peter Gillis collection.

Sharp, triangular steeple-shaped cerussite-willemite pseudomorphs after descloizite crystals to 3 cm tall with minor wulfenite micro crystals scattered throughout. Minor white calcite. No damage. Fluoresces under UV illumination. Overall size of mineral specimen: 7x6x4 cm. Size of individual crystals: 1-3 cm.

Beautiful formation of reticulated cerussite sixling-twin crystals to 15 mm long. When viewed straight on axis the reticulation is quite distinct. This specimen has a 2 mm orange wulfenite on the side. Collected January, 2001. Overall size of mineral specimen: 4x3x2.5 cm. Size of individual crystals: 2-15 mm.

Now here is a very rare thumber, and not only rare, but quite fine for what it is! It is a beautifully reticulated, very lustrous and complete IRANIAN cerussite from the collection of Sam Nasser.
