Azurite : Cu3[OH|CO3]2, Malachite : Cu2[(OH)2|CO3]

Blueball Mine, Globe, Globe Hills, Globe Hills District, Globe-Miami District, Gila Co., Arizona, USA

Well, all jokes aside, you can certainly see why they called this the Blue Ball Mine. This is an adorable geode of solid azurite, with tiny sparkling crystals in the middle, accented with pretty green malachite. These are VERY hard to get now This one came from Arizona collector/dealer Evan Jones. 2.7 x 2.4 x 1.1cm, 2.7 x 2.3 x 1.4cm

The crystals grew radially towards the middle, where you can actually see terminations around the hollow at the very center. These are quite unique ...

7.1 x 6.1 x 4.3 cm. A fine, old-time, combination specimen from the Old Dominion Mine at Globe, Arizona. The wall of a very well-placed matrix vug is covered with glassy, complex, calcite rhombs, which are beautifully complimented by a multitude of tiny tufts of sparkling, emerald-green, primary malachite needles and by crusts of powder-blue ...
