Calcite : CaCO3, Glauberite : Na2Ca(SO4)2

Camp Verde, Camp Verde District, Yavapai Co., Arizona, USA

6.4 x 3.5 x 3 cm. One of the famous Calcite after Glauberite psuedomorphs from Arizona, this fine specimen contains a classic penetration twin, well-preserved and lovely. Very few of these in this size have come across my path over the years, probably attesting to both their scarcity and desirabilty. A classic in its own right.

Gypsum : Ca[SO4] · 2H2O, Glauberite : Na2Ca(SO4)2

Camp Verde, Camp Verde District, Yavapai Co., Arizona, USA

4.4 x 2.9 x 1.8 cm. A fascinating pseudomorph of gypsum that has replaced the original glauberite crystal, retaining razor-sharp form - the result looking like something man-made or a crystal model in a textbook! It is a pristine floater. This is an old and very unusual Arizona specimen.
