Overall size of specimen 10.0 x 2.5 x 2.9 cm.; field of view shows 6.0 cm. of length. Found in the Benedict Creek area (Devil's Den).Self-collected. |

Everything found in this miarolitic cavity was similarly encrusted; no beryl remained. Found in the Benedict Creek area (Devil's Den). Self-collected. |

Benedict Creek area (Devil's Den), Sawtooth Batholith/Sawtooth Mts, Boise Co., Idaho, USA Small bertrandite crystals encrusting a matrix of cast from former beryl, mineral unknown. Found associated with smoky quartz; all material from this miarolitic cavity was encrusted with bertrandite. Overall size of specimen 4.5 x 2.5 x 2.5 cm.; field of view 3.0 x 2.0 cm. Found in the Benedict Creek area (Devil's Den). Self-collected. |

Sawtooth Batholith/Sawtooth Mts, Boise Co., Idaho, USA A beautiful terminated aquamarine crystal on matrix of albite; collected by Geary Murdock and purportedly from his "Centerville" locality, which has now been disproven. This was one of the only matrix aquamarines he found at the site where his best aquas came from; once on a much larger matrix, I acquired this from Geary in Tuscon in 1984 and ... Ardeth Lake, Sawtooth Batholith/Sawtooth Mts, Boise Co., Idaho, USA Large, etched aquamarine crystal, from a miarolitic cavity found north of Ardeth Lake, Boise County, Idaho in 1986.
