Mid-Continent Mine, Treece, Picher Field, Tri-State District, Cherokee Co., Kansas, USA Tremendous cabinet specimen of gem Golden Calcites on matrix! This is one of the finest Tri-State Calcite specimens that I've ever seen or owned! It almost could be confused for an Elmwood specimen if not for the matrix. The Calcite crystals are in excellent shape with transparent tips and transparent to translucent centers. They measure 12.7 ... |

Mid-Continent Mine, Treece, Picher Field, Tri-State District, Cherokee Co., Kansas, USA 7.6 x 5.8 x 4.8 cm. A classic and aesthetic combination specimen from the famous Mid-Continent Mine of the Tri-State District. A 6.2 cm, lustrous and translucent, frosted, golden-amber calcite scalenohedron is jauntily attached to silicified limestone matrix covered with sphalerite and a couple of sharp galena cubes. Pristine, old material from ... |

Mid-Continent Mine, Treece, Picher Field, Tri-State District, Cherokee Co., Kansas, USA 8.9 x 6.2 x 3.2 cm. A cluster of translucent calcite crystal, of light amber to tan color, to about 4 cm. There is something ultra-cool about this specimen: from the termination tips of each large crystal grows a second, smaller crystal of the same form, with side faces and terminations of their own! Ex. Feist Collection. |

Mid-Continent Mine, Treece, Picher Field, Tri-State District, Cherokee Co., Kansas, USA Large Golden Calcite perched atop stacked Galena crystals! This is one impressive Tri-State specimen and I like the fact that the Calcite is DT'ed! The Galena cubes are mirror-faced and partially coated with drusy at the same time. This is just a neat old piece from a classic mining district. From the Mid Continent Mine, Treece, Picher Field, ... |

Mid-Continent Mine, Treece, Picher Field, Tri-State District, Cherokee Co., Kansas, USA 8.9 x 6.1 x 5.7 cm. There are two completely different forms of calcite here on the same specimen - and the lone scalenohedral crystal happens to have one of the other form (gemmy, light champagne color) growing on its termination! Mid-Continent Mine, Treece, Picher Field, Tri-State District, Cherokee Co., Kansas, USA 6.9 x 6.4 x 2.9 cm. An old Tri-State calcite from Treece, featuring a light amber crystal measuring 4 cm, with an extension crystal growing right out of the tip of its termination. The calcite has fine luster, and is complete and undamaged all around. Probably collected prior to the 1960s, from the Feist collection. |

Mid-Continent Mine, Treece, Picher Field, Tri-State District, Cherokee Co., Kansas, USA Calcite with malachite inclusions. The malachite formed as the chalcopyrite weathered and as the cacite crystal was growing. The largest calcite crystal is approximately 5 cm in length. Formerly in the Joe Kielbaso collection and acquired from M. Phantom Minerals (Neal and Chris Pfaff) in October 1999. |

Mid-Continent Mine, Treece, Picher Field, Tri-State District, Cherokee Co., Kansas, USA 5.5 x 4.5 x 3.5 cm. A very old, very rare calcite crystal with sparkly, powder-blue copper mineral inclusions from the Mid-Continent Mine of Kansas. The sharply terminated, lustrous, translucent, amber crystal scalenohedron aesthetically rests on sphalerite with chalcopyrite. The copper mineralization, as malachite or chrysocolla, formed as the ... |

Mid-Continent Mine, Treece, Picher Field, Tri-State District, Cherokee Co., Kansas, USA Large, single crystal of sphalerite with small 1 mm chalcopyrite crystals scattered on the surface. No matrix. This is the second-best (and last) good sphalerite crystal I have available from this now-closed locality). No damage. Overall size of mineral specimen: 28x24x22 mm. Size of individual crystals: 1-28 mm. |
