A neat specimen of Microcline, variety Amazonite, with a dusting of Schorl crystals on it's front crystal faces. These specimens from America's other Amazonite locality are very hard to come by these days, as the mine is now defunct.
specimen size = 4.1 x 3.5 x 3.2 cm.

Topaz : Al2[(F,OH)2|SiO4]

Zapot pegmatite, Gillis Range, Fitting District, Mineral Co., Nevada, USA

This monstrous crystal probably weighs over a kilo on its own, and is one of the top 5 specimens found in the amazing one-time glory hole at this remote mine, about 5 years ago now. The whole find has been documented several times in print and remains to this day the single most important topaz find in North America since the heyday of San Diego ...

Topaz : Al2[(F,OH)2|SiO4]

Zapot pegmatite, Gillis Range, Fitting District, Mineral Co., Nevada, USA

A really impressive specimen from the 1999-2000 finds of spectacular American topaz specimens at the ZAPOT MINE in middle-of-nowhere, Nevada. This piece features a rising procession of 3 cm gemmy steely-blue topaz crystals that culminates in a SHARP 5 cm crystal with perfect termination! It is unfortunately contacted on the whole back face BUT it ...

Topaz : Al2[(F,OH)2|SiO4]

Zapot pegmatite, Gillis Range, Fitting District, Mineral Co., Nevada, USA

An unusually well-formed topaz crystal from the 1999-2000 finds of spectacular American topaz specimens at the ZAPOT MINE in middle-of-nowhere, Nevada. Complete and equant save for two spots of damage to either side (it is there, and detracts from price, but is not too bothersome visually at the reduced price). No more has been found since! The ...

Topaz : Al2[(F,OH)2|SiO4], Albite : Na[AlSi3O8]

Zapot pegmatite, Gillis Range, Fitting District, Mineral Co., Nevada, USA

Tremendous cabinet specimen of Bluish-Green Topaz crystals on Albite!
This specimen ranks as one of the finest Topaz specimens I've seen from Nevada and
the color is definately the deepest of any I've seen. As a matter of fact, this specimen is
nearly perfect in all respects! Even the irregular edge on the lower right size is ...
