De Beers Mine, Kimberley, Northern Cape Province, South Africa An impressively large, translucent octohedron with a waxy beige-gray color, this diamond makes for a hefty display-quality example! It has interesting reddish inclusions visible from two faces, as well. This piece is from the Ruggiero Collection, acquired in 1978 . Kimberley Mine, Kimberley, Northern Cape Province, South Africa 1.6 x 1.5 x 1.5 cm. This is one of those few rare diamonds that today can be dated and located to the original Kimberley Mine itself, almost certainly dating to the early 1900s and perhaps further.
