Quartz (Var: Amethyst) : SiO2

Baia de Arieş (Offenbánya), Alba Co., Romania

A group of prismatic crystals with very pronounced phantoms. Terminations clearly show only three faces of one rhombohedron and not the usual six of two rhombohedra. The group is formed on a matrix of Sphalerite.
With the sample two very old and historical labels. The first one, from the XIX century and the second one from J.M. Ackner ...

Baia de Arieş (Offenbánya), Alba Co., Romania

A classic, but with features that make if different from other specimens from this locality. The prismatic crystals of Sylvanite, which are almost needles, are very brilliant and quite long. They are very well-defined and contrast well with the background of pale Rhodochrosite. We will give the purchaser a copy of the analysis of the Sylvanite, ...

Baia de Arieş (Offenbánya), Alba Co., Romania

A small but lustrous example of a classic mineral from its type locality; with lustrous silvery prismatic crystals of Sylvanite displaying striations along the lengths. The crystals are quite well defined and the amount of Sylvanite coverage contrasts well with the matrix. Great example of a Gold, Silver, Tellurium mineral.
