Jos Plateau, Plateau State, Nigeria This is one of the first Aquas I''ve seen from this locality and it is truly one of the most unique Beryls I''ve seen from any locality. The lower 80% of this crystal is a very deep blue, nearly opaque color, but the termination is comprised of a lighter color, much gemmier and oddly crystallized group of dozens of individual crystals. The crystal ... |

Jos Plateau, Plateau State, Nigeria A gemmy, gorgeous aquamarine crystal with great blue color intensity and a fine, tapering, pinacoidal termination from Jos, Nigeria. The color intensity is way above your usual Brazilian or Pakistan aquas. Ex Irv Brown TN Collection. 1.6 x 0.8 x 0.7 cm |

Jos Plateau, Plateau State, Nigeria 5.0 x 1.0 x 0.9 cm. A superb, pristine, complete gem crystal from find sin the mid-1980s. Note the steep termination, classic for beryls from the Jos Plateau! Most of these were cut in the day, treated to enhance the color and butchered for gems. Weight is about 45 carats. Ex. Charlie Key. |

Jos Plateau, Plateau State, Nigeria 4.2 x 1.3 x 1.2 cm. This is such a richly colored Aquamarine crystal it really should be called "Blue Beryl". In addition to the color, the crystal is incredibly gemmy (nearly 95% gem quality) with good luster some attractive pyramidal modifications to the termination. Ex. Richard Kosnar Collection. |

Jos Plateau, Plateau State, Nigeria A nice example of Aquamarine from one of the lesser known African Beryl locations. A neat feature of this specimen is that it has been partially dissolved on the rear. specimen size = 3.4 x .8 x .5 cm. |

Jos Plateau, Plateau State, Nigeria 6.7 x 0.7 x 0.7 cm. A fine aquamarine gem crystal for Nigeria, very gemmy, with a silky luster, a sharp termination and sharp prismatic faces as well. It is quite transparent, but the camera picked up the silky surface luster, which is what makes it look cloudy - there is also a slight blue color that does not appear in the photo. The crystal ... |
